I always knew my cat was planning to take over the world or at least, me, but to actually have an article that proves that our wonderful feline friends manipulate us really took the cake.
In an article I found on yahoo, a scientist owned by a cat noticed something in the purring of her furry companion. After talking to other people who were owned by cats, she found that she wasn’t the only one who noticed it and set up a study.
If a cat is wanting something, the purr is usually accompanied by a sort of cry that triggers a response in their humans. When the recordings of this were played for non-cat owners, they reported the same response, realizing that the cat was wanting something. Another recording, this one of the cry taken out, the result was more of a soothing type of purr.
Tricky little buggers, aren’t they?
