Having health issues myself, I’ve been trying to stay abreast of what Congress and Obama are planning on doing about making sure every American gets the quality care they are entitled to.

So..it seems Ms. Palin is getting involved and rightfully so as she has a child with Down Syndrome.

I was looking over this article and was stunned when I saw that they’re going to give a voluntary right to end your life – euthanasia. Now, correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t the US rule assisted suicide is illegal? Now it seems the House is debating on whether or not Medicare should offer an ‘end of life’ counseling service for those who are volunteering to take part of that program.

The news from Congress and the White House on the health care system is becoming more and more disturbing. Are people with chronic conditions, birth defects, illness from growing old…are they going to be deemed as unfit for treatment and given minimal care?

We need to wake up and start making our voices heard!

I tried the series "Twilight" and made it past the first few paragraphs before taking it back to the library. I couldn’t get into the series, the characters..none of it. But I do find articles on novels to be interesting and my mother send me one that revolved around a plagiarism dispute. Apparently, there are quite a few similarities between this popular series and a book called ‘Nocturne,’ which was published online around 2006 by Jordan Scott.

Now, I do know that it can be easy for books to overlap so I have to wonder if Meyer did plagiarize Scott or no. You be the judge!

Logging in can be fun because you never know what the headlines are going to be. Take today’s interesting article about a 12-year-old cat in England that takes the bus everyday. Now, mind you, he really doesn’t have a destination in mind. Casper just likes to ride the bus!

The First UK Bus staff all know about him and every driver knows to make sure he gets off at the stop near his home so the aging feline will be close to his owner. His owner first found out about it when she received a call from a garage a mile and a half from her home. The next day, she followed the cat to find that he was taking the bus. Afterwards, she contacted the bus company to let them know what was going on and surprisingly, the company has worked with her to make sure that Casper gets home safely.

Talk about cute!

Logging in today, I see a title about a horrified cat owner, so naturally I clicked on it having a feline companion myself. The news absolutely flabbergasted me. An owner went out of town with her son, leaving a friend to feed and take care of their family pet. The cat was healthy and for some reason, bit the friend. Well, the bite wound swelled up and she went to the doctor. When the owner returned, they had to take the cat to the shelter for tests as the cat had not had its vaccines. She received the all clear notice from the shelter and came to get their cat, only to find that the cat being given to them resembled theirs slightly but wasn’t. Their cat was euthanized due to a paperwork mix up.

The shelter didn’t really apologize for it and although the head is trying to keep communication open so the staff can react better and keep this from happening, this doesn’t help the poor family that lost their beloved friend.

Sad..absolutely sad.

You know, it seems as if every time I look at the news, Obama has made the headlines for the most idiotic gaffes any person can make. The bad news on that fact is he’s our President and making us look stupid.

Take this new issue about Stg. James Crowley and the arrest of Henry Louis Gates, Jr. We’re looking at an officer who is known for his work on how to avoid racial profiling and tried to revive Reggie Lewis in 1993 after his collapse at the Boston Celtics practice.

Obviously, this man was doing his job and our President commented that he was acting "stupidly" by arresting Gates. This comment has garnered national attention, and the police are supporting Crowley for doing his job. Obama is now somewhat recanting his words, stating he was "ratcheting up" something that was already being "ratcheted up" because this racial issues are so high.

Interestingly enough, the police who are supporting Crowley are men and women of various races.

Hello, Mr. Obama, it’s time to get the foot out of your mouth and publicly apologize to this man for doing his job and stop ‘recanting’ when a true apology is necessary.

I always knew my cat was planning to take over the world or at least, me, but to actually have an article that proves that our wonderful feline friends manipulate us really took the cake.

In an article I found on yahoo, a scientist owned by a cat noticed something in the purring of her furry companion. After talking to other people who were owned by cats, she found that she wasn’t the only one who noticed it and set up a study.

If a cat is wanting something, the purr is usually accompanied by a sort of cry that triggers a response in their humans. When the recordings of this were played for non-cat owners, they reported the same response, realizing that the cat was wanting something. Another recording, this one of the cry taken out, the result was more of a soothing type of purr.

Tricky little buggers, aren’t they?
